Fall Lawn Guide
If your soil sample indicates your lawn needs lime, fall is the ideal time to apply!
As summer comes to an end, the time for fall lawn care approaches. Warm-season grass growth is beginning to slow down while temperatures become slightly cooler. Grass will continue growing, however, until the first frost marks the beginning of dormancy.
Here are some turf and lawn chores for September 22–December 21:
● Continue regular mowing at recommended heights for bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, and carpetgrass. Raise mowing height to 3 inches on St. Augustinegrass to promote winter hardiness.
● Take a soil test to help you plan your fertilization program for next summer. Fall is the ideal time to apply lime if your soil test recommends it.
