Therapeutic riding coordinator named to national position
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- Mississippi State University's head of therapeutic riding was elected to a two-year term as regional representative of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.
Mary Ford, therapeutic riding instructor and program coordinator for the MSU Extension Service 4-H TEAM program, was elected by Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida members of NARHA to serve as the Region 5 representative. In addition to representing the members at NARHA board meetings, Ford will assist in coordinating regional conferences, award programs and networking between state programs.
TEAM, Therapeutic Equine Activity Member, is a NARHA accredited therapeutic riding program that conducts equine activities for people with disabilities at the Mississippi Horse Park on the MSU campus in Starkville.
