Seminar aids tree, shrub pest control
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- Tree and shrub growers in South Mississippi can take advantage of a one-day seminar in June to hone their abilities to control pests.
The Tree and Shrub Pest Management Seminar runs from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. June 28 in Biloxi at Mississippi State University's Coastal Research and Extension Center. It is sponsored by MSU and the South Mississippi Lawn and Landscape Association.
All Master Gardeners and nursery and landscape professionals are invited to attend. The $25 workshop fee covers registration, lunch and snacks. Preregistration is requested by June 21, and payment is due at the door.
The seminar will feature discussions about insects, diseases and weeds in the landscape. A portion of the afternoon will include outdoor field identification activities. Speakers represent MSU, the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service and Auburn University.
