October workshop offers landscape design ideas
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- An upcoming workshop will help people address many of the issues related to landscape design.
The 51st Mississippi Landscape Symposium is the longest running workshop of its kind in the country. The symposium will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Bost Auditorium at Mississippi State University.
New landscape designs are popular methods for improving the value and appearance of a home. Symposium speakers will provide information on planning outdoor spaces, conservation approaches in the home garden, effective garden design principles and methods to attract wildlife. Garden tours of new landscapes on the university campus also will be conducted.
Sponsored by MSU’s Department of Landscape Architecture and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., the symposium will feature more than 100 floral designs, 300 horticulture specimens and educational exhibits by gardens clubs in Mississippi.
The cost to attend the symposium is $19 if registered by Oct. 6 or $25 at the door.
