MSU landscape design event set for Oct. 16
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- People eager to learn about new plants and how to deal with challenging conditions can hear from experts at Mississippi State University’s annual landscape design event Oct. 16.
The 58th Edward C. Martin Jr. Landscape Design Symposium features three speakers, who will address practical topics:
- Keynote speaker Mary Palmer Dargan, member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, practicing landscape architect and noted author, will present a lecture titled “Lifelong Landscape Design: Environments for Health and Longevity.”
- Pat Drackett, director of the MSU Extension Service’s Crosby Arboretum in Picayune will present “Simple Solutions for Challenging Landscapes” to help gardeners solve existing problems.
- Bob Brzuszek, MSU associate Extension professor of landscape architecture, will deliver an illustrated lecture on new plant varieties, “Great New Plants to Use and Abuse.”
The symposium will be at the Bost Extension Center theater from 9 a.m. to noon.
