Breakfast on the Farm set for Oct. 27-28
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Families and students have an opportunity to tour Mississippi State University’s dairy facilities this fall.
The MSU Extension Service will host Breakfast on the Farm Oct. 27-28 at the Joe Bearden Dairy Research Center at 2128 Turkey Creek Road near Starkville. The event is open to preregistered school groups from 9 a.m. until noon on Oct. 27. Families and community members are invited to attend the next morning at the same hours.
Breakfast on the Farm is intended to promote an appreciation of Mississippi’s dairy industry. Attendees can tour the dairy facility, go “trick-or-teating,” and enjoy breakfast, milk and ice cream. They can also compete in a cow costume contest, view a haunted milking parlor and partake in other Halloween activities.
The deadline to preregister is Oct. 20. The $5 entry fee includes breakfast, milk and ice cream. Families who lack funds for the event are encouraged to contact Amanda Stone at 662-769-9941 to find a potential sponsor for their children.
