Muscadine field day set for Aug. 29
CARRIERE, Miss. -- People can learn about timely topics related to muscadine vines during the 2019 Muscadine Field Day Aug. 29 in Carriere.
Speakers with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service will present the program. Topics include cultivars, best production practices, and insects and diseases.
The field day will be held at the MSU McNeill Research Unit, a branch of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. It is located at 7 Ben Gill Road in Carriere, directly across from Jack’s Fish House.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. Attendees will receive a 1-gallon bag for collecting muscadines. No outside bags or containers are allowed.
