STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Agricultural specialists with Mississippi State University will share updates and forecasts for 2025 on the state’s largest industry during a conference in January.

The 2025 Mississippi Agricultural Outlook Conference will be held Jan. 14 at the Mill Conference Center in Starkville from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Producers, ag lenders and farm managers are encouraged to attend.

The conference will provide a comprehensive outlook on agricultural economic conditions in 2025 from faculty members of the MSU Department of Agricultural Economics. It is presented by the MSU Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.

The morning session features keynote speaker Cortney Cowley, a senior economist in the Regional Affairs Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Sector-specific updates and forecasts will be presented in the afternoon, with topics including farmland values, row crops, livestock, budgets and labor.

“Presentations provided by Extension specialists and outside speakers will enhance the knowledge about the state of the U.S. agricultural economy and provide an excellent setting for building new relationships among different groups and professions,” said Kevin Kim, MSU Extension agricultural economist and organizer of the conference. “Last year, we welcomed more than 140 attendees and received very positive feedback.”
