Is it safe to turn on appliances?

Do not turn on any household appliance or equipment until you know it is clean, dry, and that rotating parts turn freely. Examine motors of pumps, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, etc. Thoroughly clean washing machines before using. Clean shaft and gears with gasoline. Wipe with a clean cloth. Oil bearings before using the appliance.
