Backyard Poultry Production Basic Overview (revised)

This program was formerly Beginning Poultry—Information to Help You Raise Your Own Backyard Flock. This program will provide the necessary tools to establish and maintain the health and welfare of a backyard flock of chickens.

Target Audiences:

Individuals with an interest in keeping backyard poultry (suitable for individuals living in the city or country), 4-Hers, and FFA students

Objectives:

Participants will:

• Gain knowledge of backyard poultry production,
• Identify and utilize proper techniques to begin and maintain backyard flocks, and
• Problem-solve backyard production issues.
