Am I qualified to apply for TCALP?
Eligible class members must be able to participate in a series of rigorous seminars. Participants should be agricultural stakeholders with a strong desire to deepen their understanding of the full realm of agriculture and rural development, to support vibrant communities, and to help develop a vision for the future of Mississippi agriculture.
Do I have to be a Mississippi resident to apply for TCALP?
TCALP was developed to serve the agricultural industry in the state of Mississippi. Participants may be residents of Mississippi, or they may be employed by an agricultural production or support industry in Mississippi.
What is the age limit to join TCALP?
There is no set age limit to join. However, TCALP is an educational and personal development program for emerging leaders who are well established in their careers.
What is the time commitment to TCALP?
Each class will participate in nine seminars over the course of 22 months. In total, participants engage in approximately 35 days of educational sessions over 2 years.
What is my financial commitment to TCALP?
The tuition fee for TCALP is $2,500, which can be paid in two installments. Hotel rooms, transportation, and most meals are included at the seminars.
What if I know I cannot attend every seminar?
Ideal applicants are willing to prioritize attending all seminars. Some seminar dates are tentative.
What documents do I need to provide in my application?
The application should include your application form, statement of interest, employer statement of commitment form, and a spouse/partner statement of support form. These forms can be found in the handbook and forms section of our website.
