MSU offers workshop on wedding floral design
BILOXI, Miss. -- An upcoming two-day workshop will teach professional florists and others who want to begin or expand businesses about wedding floral design.
Jim DelPrince, floral specialist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, will conduct the Wedding Floral Design Workshop Aug. 7 and 8 in Biloxi.
The workshop will be held at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center located at 1815 Popps Ferry Road. It begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. both days. Registration costs $150 per person and includes lunch. Seating is limited. Participants may bring their own tools or purchase them at the workshop.
Cut flower producers also will find the material helpful.
Topics include care and handling techniques, productive and efficient floral consultations, and design techniques for centerpieces, altar arrangements, and flowers to carry and wear.
DelPrince is a laureate of the American Institute of Floral Design and was an MSU faculty member for 20 years with a background in professional floristry before joining Extension two years ago.
