Advisory meetings offer chance to share ag needs
RAYMOND, Miss. -- Producers in Mississippi can provide feedback and input on the agricultural research and educational programs offered by Mississippi State University during the upcoming producer advisory council meetings.
Hosted by MSU Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station personnel, the Producer Advisory Council meetings will be held in February. These meetings allow producers to learn about current research and educational opportunities, as well as to communicate their needs in these areas.
The North Mississippi Producer Advisory Council will meet Feb. 16 at the Magnolia Building at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center AgriCenter in Verona. Producers will gather for the Central Mississippi Producer Advisory Council meeting Feb. 21 in Raymond at the McKenzie Arena behind the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center. The Coastal Mississippi Producer Advisory Council meeting will be held Feb. 23 at the Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi. The meetings will begin with general sessions before breaking off into several commodity groups. These groups include agritourism, apiculture, aquaculture, beef, cotton, dairy, equine, ornamentals, peanuts, poultry, swine, turf, vegetables, grain crops, sweet potatoes, forestry and wildlife, commercial fisheries and seafood processing, coastal and marine ecology, coastal resiliency and restoration, fruits and nuts, and goats and sheep.
